     Part One: Conceptual issues - Understanding the theory behind each disorder mentioned in the DSM-5 as rational that links assessment to treatment
     

Part Two: Recognize character patterns of the patient’s individual personality structure and how this contributes to the talking cure

Learning Objective:

My aim is to be filling the need for a clearly articulated conceptual heritage that Christian counselors often neglected or took for granted, i.e. character diagnosis. It will focus on how to appreciate personality structures that influences the counselor’s focus from assessment to treatment. How you comprehend pathology development will help you develop an approach to the talking cure. The sessions will move from abnormal psychology, which covers more traditional diagnostic concepts as seen in the DSM-5, to stress on character organization, assessment of personality patterns that contribute to mental health and combat mental illness.
